Dustin H. Burnside grew up in a small mountain town with less than 2k people. Whether it was taking apart old sewing machines at age six or competing at the state and national levels as a member of the Technology Student Association at age 12, Dustin was on his way to being The Best Home Inspector in North Carolina!
Engineering balsa bridges wasn’t the only thing on Dustin’s mind. When he wasn’t making his siblings watch This Old House, he was building a tree fort by himself at age 11. Dustin was also immersed in the trades through his family’s businesses to include his Granddad’s concrete company. Plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills were something every family member was expected to have and Dustin spent his highschool years remodeling an 18th century farmhouse with his Dad. To this day, Dustin is only a call away from a beholden licensed plumber, electrician, or contractor family member.
After highschool, Dustin was selected to become a Nuclear Missile Technician for the US Navy due to his high aptitude test scores, but he turned down the opportunity in order to have the “adventure of a lifetime” as a Paratrooper in the US Army. It was everything promised and set Dustin on a disciplined track to being a well-rounded and respected member of the community. His time in the Army was spent mostly as a bachelor, but after returning from Afghanistan it was time to settle down. Dustin married his best friend, Brandi and started his transition to civilian life.
After being honorably discharged, Dustin decided to kick things off with a college degree which would perfectly compliment his skills. He enrolled in a four year program at the Reeves School of Business at Methodist University. With his drive and newly found free time, Dustin was able to graduate Magna Cum Laude in only five semesters. More recently, Dustin earned an MBA.
As a Licensed Home Inspector, Dustin strives to be the best by holding his reputation paramount. He loves his work and treats every inspection as if it were his own. He knows that being a great Home Inspector is directly correlated to his ability to honor his number one priority… his family.
